Distributing Skills

The Distribution tab provides a matrix view of the career, crossing all registered skills with all positions in each journey. This is where you define the expected proficiency level for each skill in each position, building the career's competency map.

To access it, open a career under Skills > Careers and click on the Distribution tab.

How the Matrix Works

The rows represent skills, organized by category (e.g. Technical Skills). Each skill displays its name and a brief description in the left column.

The columns represent positions, grouped by journey (e.g. Backend Developer — Junior, Mid-level, Senior, Specialist). You can navigate between journeys using the arrows in the header. Use the search field or the Journey filter to focus on a specific journey.

Adding a Level to a Position

In cells where no level has been defined yet, click Add level +. A side panel will open showing the skill with all its registered levels, their descriptions, and examples. Select the expected level for that position and close the panel — the cell will update with the filled proficiency circles corresponding to the chosen level.

Editing or Viewing an Already Defined Level

In cells that already have a level defined, the filled circles indicate the expected proficiency level. Click the cell to open the skill's side panel and adjust the level if needed.

The panel displays, for each level:

  • Description — what is expected of the professional at that proficiency level.

  • Examples — practical cases that illustrate how the skill is applied at that level.

  • ✨ Generate button — allows you to generate or regenerate the level's examples using artificial intelligence.

Skills Without a Defined Level

When a skill has no level assigned to a position, the circles appear empty and the Add level + link remains visible. This indicates that the competency has not yet been mapped for that position and will not be considered in the skills map of collaborators linked to it.
