Endorsement in a cycle
The endorsement step asks someone to confirm or adjust the levels each person marked in the cycle's skill map. The endorsement starts when the person answers the map, has its own deadline and reminders and is kept with the result.
Set up the step
In the Steps step of the cycle form, check the Endorsement card. It is only available with a map step in the cycle, since it endorses the maps answered there. The deadline counts from each map's answer, and the default is ten days.
In Who endorses, pick the rule:
The person's manager: who is set as the manager on the person's record when the cycle opens.
Position owner: the owner of the person's track in the career or, without one, the career owner.
A specific person: one person endorses the whole audience of the step.
In With no one found, pick who endorses when the rule finds nobody: whoever manages the person's area or a specific person. The audience preview shows how many people the rule covers, how many go to whoever stands in and how many have nobody to endorse them.
Who endorses each person is set when the cycle is planned and does not change if the manager changes mid-round. To change it, use Change who endorses in the person's menu, in the Endorsement tab.
Track and endorse
The cycle's Endorsement tab lists the people to endorse, with the map, who endorses, the deadline and the status: waiting for the map, pending, in progress, endorsed, overdue or not endorsed on time. Whoever endorses sees there the people that are theirs.
Click Endorse to open the person's map. For each skill you see the previous cycle's level, when there is one, the self-assessment and the position's expected level. Use Confirm to keep the level or Change to pick the endorsed level, and click Save. The endorsement shows as done as soon as every skill is endorsed.
The invite, reminder and overdue e-mails go to whoever endorses, not to the person of the map. The templates can be customized in Settings > E-mails.
