What the Access Profile selector does
People who administer the workspace do not see the platform the same way the rest of the team does. Menus, buttons, and pages change according to each person's access profile.
The Access Profile selector, in your user menu, lets you temporarily switch your view to that of a User and check what your team finds when they open the workspace.
This is an interface preview. Your actual permissions stay the same, and nothing is changed in your record or in anyone else's.
Who can use it
The selector is available to people with the Admin or Manager profile.
You can only preview a profile with fewer permissions than your own. There is no way to take on a profile above yours.
How to preview as a User
Click your name or avatar to open the user menu.
Click Access Profile.
The submenu shows two options: your current profile (for example, Admin) and User.
Select User.
The page reloads and the workspace shows only the menus and features available to the User profile.
How to return to your profile
Open the user menu again.
Click Access Profile and select your original profile.
If you open a page that is not available to the User profile, the platform shows a message with a Back to my access profile button, which also ends the preview.
What to expect during the preview
The choice applies only to your browser. No one else is affected, and no one can tell you are using another profile.
The preview stays active even if you reload the page or close and reopen the tab. It ends only when you return to your profile.
Your access profile and your permissions in the account never change.
The feature shows the User profile experience in the menus and pages that depend on the access profile. It does not replace a permissions test on the account.

Does this change my account permissions?
No. The selector changes only what you see on screen. The access profile recorded for you in the workspace stays the same.
Can I preview as an Admin or Manager?
No. The feature only allows previewing profiles with fewer permissions than your own, so you can check your team's experience.
I cannot find the selector in my menu. Why?
Check your access profile: the selector appears only for Admin and Manager. In workspaces without the Skills module active it may not be available. To check or adjust someone's profile, see the article on managing management users in the workspace.
I forgot to return to my profile. What happens?
Nothing is lost. Just open the user menu and select your original profile to restore full access.
