Why is my CPF being requested during the assessment?

Learn what Background Check is, how identity verification works, and how your data is protected.

During some assessments, the company may request a data verification using your CPF (Brazilian Tax ID). This step is called Background Check and works as a background screening that is part of the hiring process.

What is Background Check

Background Check is a query of public data linked to your CPF. The company uses this information as part of their candidate evaluation process.

The query is processed by Exato Digital, a Coodesh partner. Depending on the role, the report may include:

  • Criminal records and data linked to the CPF

  • Credit analysis

  • Brazilian Driver's License (CNH) validation

How it works

When you reach this step in the assessment, you will see the Identity Verification screen. There:

  1. Enter your CPF in the field provided.

  2. Click Submit to authorize the query.

By submitting, you authorize the company to query your public data linked to the CPF you provided.

I am a foreigner and don't have a Brazilian CPF

No problem. On the same screen, check the option "I am a foreigner (I don't have a Brazilian CPF)" and proceed to the next step. No information will be requested and this does not affect your assessment.

Security and privacy of your data

Your privacy is taken seriously:

  • Your CPF is only queried with your explicit consent: nothing happens without you submitting the form.

  • Data is transmitted securely between Coodesh and the Exato Digital provider.

  • Only authorized company users can view the generated report.

  • You do not receive a copy of the report. The result goes directly to the company's dashboard.

  • Report access links are generated on demand with an expiration time.
